Central Wyoming's Grassroots Gravel Event and One Heck of a Shindig!

We like it gritty, we like it dirty, and we like it Cowboy Tough.

The Cowboy Crusher is held in the beautiful town of Glenrock, Wyoming. Nestled at the base of the Rocky Mountains and the confluence of Deer Creek and North Platte River, Glenrock served as a mail and stage stop along the Oregon Trail and a vital point for emigrants during the westward expansion. Pony Express riders raced through the area at record speeds. It took grit, determination and fortitude to live in Glenrock Country.....It took Cowboy Tough!

Cowboy Crusher routes cover mixed surfaces with anything from champagne gravel to whiskey wielding roads with some two-track. Four distances capture the spirit of this grassroots gravel event.

Cowboy 121 ~ 121 miles and 9,000+ feet of elevation gain.
Immerse yourself in the beauty of Mormon and Boxelder canyons as you ascend up the foothills of the Rocky Moutains. Views of the Shirley Basin await as you exit Upper Boxelder Canyon and loop eastward. Descend down the La Prele Creek drainage as you head northward. Approximately 20 miles of pavement will give you a small reprieve until the route turns westward and runs past the Ayers Natural Bridge Park area. Soon you will start the climb back up towards Windy Ridge Road and lower Boxelder Canyon. Be sure to save a little in the tank as this climb is a doozy. Once on top, you have a few more miles of gravel until the sweet descent down Boxelder Canyon and into Glenrock and across the finish line to a well deserved beverage.

Broncobuster 75 ~ 75 miles and 6,500 feet of elevation gain.
It may not be the full-on Cowboy, but don't be fooled, the Broncobuster is a Butt Kicker.
As you head southward and ascend Mormon Canyon you will start a conversation with yourself that goes something like this..."Wow, beautiful scenery"...."Wow, shut up legs". Just keep pedaling and before you know it you are out of the canyon and feeling like you are on top of the world. Cruise through a few rollers and then head east down into the ranchlands of Boxelder Creek drainage. Enjoy the scenery of this ranching communityt until the course makes another turn down Windy Ridge Road and then northward towards Ayers Natural Bridge Park. Take in the scenery of the park at the aid station and then mount your trusty stead and retrace your route back to the top of Windy Ridge Road and Boxelder Road. A few more miles of gravel and then you are on your way swooping down Boxelder Canyon back to Glenrock Park and the finish line.

Buckaroo 40 ~ 40 miles and 3,200 feet of elevation gain.
Want a taste of the Cowboy life, but aren't up for the bigger rides.
The Buckaroo is just enough tough to be Cowboy Tough!
This route is very scenic as it takes in the beauty of Mormon Canyon and the Boxelder Creek ranchlands just before you cruise down Boxelder Canyon with a smile on your face and back into Glenrock Park. The Buckaroo takes in parts of both the Cowboy 121 and Broncobuster 75 and will challenge anyone to be Cowboy Tough!

Mutton Buster ~ 17 miles and 1,000 feet of elevation gain.
Want to be a Cowboy?....The Mutton Buster is your entry into the Cowboy life.
This one is fast and fun right out of the gate. Follow in the footsteps of the Cowboy and Broncobuster as you pedal up the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. Then, just as you're about to hit the steep stuff, turn around, grab a handful of wool, and hold on as you rip back down into Glenrock and the finish line. You will have a Wooly good time on this course.

Glenrock Town Park is where all things Cowboy Crusher start and finish. Start/finish, after party, awards, music, food, beverage and a lota....lota swag will happen in the park.

Awards for top 3 male, female and nonbinary overall winners in each race will be given as well as recognition for top 3 placement in each age category for male, female and nonbinary participants.

Cowboy Crusher Refund, Transfer and Cancellation Policy:Life happens....We get it. We will try to be as flexible as possible, however, there are limits to what we can do.
Refund Policy~
Prior to May 1st - We will provide a maximum of 50% refund for Cowboy Crusher refund request.
After May 1st - There will be absolutely NO REFUNDS for any of the Cowboy Crusher races, distances, and categories.
We understand that circumstances may arise that prevent you from participating in this race, so by registering, you are taking on a risk.

Transfer Policy~
Should you find yourself unable to participate for any circumstance, you may transfer your race entry to someone else.
All transfer requests must be submitted no later than 14 days prior to the posted race date. There will be a $10 transfer fee for any transfer request.
It is your responsibility to find someone to transfer your registration to.
Transfers will only be applied to the same Cowboy Crusher event year.
No registrations will be permitted to "roll-over" to the following year or be transferred to any other 1890 Cycling event.

Distance Changes~
You may change the distance of your race for a fee of $10 plus the difference in registration price if you are moving up in distance.
If you are moving down in distance, we will not refund the difference in price.
You may not change your race distance any later than 14 days prior to the posted race date.
You will receive a DNF (Did Not Finish) if you do not complete the race distance you are registered for.

Cancellation Policy~
If the race is canceled due to reasons out of our control, we ask that participants accept the financial risk of their entry fee. Please understand the YOU WILL NOT be refunded any portion of your entry fee if the race is canceled for reasons out of our control after May 1st (see refund policy above). Please understand that fees collected upon registration are used to directly pay for the supplies and services associated with the event such as: insurance, vendors, merchandise, aid station supplies, administrative expenses, permits and other related expenses.

If you are not comfortable with these risk and policies, then please do not register for this event.
